Introduction To MoneyOnline's Discount Brokerage Service
The Benefits
- By using MoneyOnline as your fund broker (intermediary) you can invest in managed fund investments available in New Zealand at low or zero entry commissions. For most funds this also means ZERO entry fees. You save many hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars.
- You also benefit when you make additional investments - for example the same discounts apply to ongoing automatic monthly investment from your bank account
NOTE: All funds are marked with the % of application commission discount and the total residual entry fee - if any. Residual entry fees are often retained by the fund manager and not necessarily paid to MoneyOnline.
- If you made an initial investment through another broker, you can still get fee discounts through us. Click here to find out how.
- You can also use the MoneyOnline Personal Portfolio Manager to keep track of all your investments in managed investment funds plus NZ and Australian shares.

Procedures
- Click on the Investment Statement Order Form button at the left of the screen.
- Select the investment(s) of your choice and email the form. We will mail you the Investment Statement authorising the fund manager(s) to rebate up front brokerage to you in the form of additional units. Or simply download the investment statement PDF where available, print. complete and post in the usual way. PDF forms have rebate and broker authorities on them where applicable and are a legal format.
- Fund managers will apply these discounts only if MoneyOnline Limited is your intermediary in terms of the Investment Statement. This happens automatically when you lodge an application bearing the MONEYONELINE BROKER STAMP. DO NOT USE A FORM WHICH DOES NOT HAVE THIS STAMP - EVEN IF YOU HAVE MADE A PREVIOUS INVESTMENT THROUGH MONEYONLINE. IF THE APPLICATION IS LODGED WITHOUT THE MONEYONLINE BROKER STAMP, FEE DISCOUNTS WILL NOT BE APPLIED.
- If you have existing investments THROUGH ANOTHER BROKER a separate form may be required so you can enjoy the discounts available through MoneyOnLine.

COMPLETING INVESTMENT APPLICATIONS - PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION
The Financial Transactions Reporting Act 1996 requires NZ fund managers and issuers of other securities to identify investors.
Other countries have similar legislation endorsing the objectives of the OECD Financial Action Task Force (FAFT).
Investments registered in those countries also have formal identification requirements.
Offer documents may specify different or additional instructions from the guide below. In all cases, instructions on offer documents must be followed.
- Applications to invest in your own name using your personal cheque drawn on a NZ bank require no further identification. (Note: Many overseas based issuers will not accept a NZ currency cheque).
- Applications which are made using a bank (cashier's) cheque require at least two forms of identification which may be photocopied. eg. driver's licence and passport.
- Trustee Investments: Require identification documentation for ALL the trustees.
- Company Investments: Require identification documentation for ALL directors.
- Overseas Registered Investments: If application cannot be made by NZ personal cheque, then identification documents will be required. This may vary depending on the jurisdiction in which the investment issuer is registered. Usually two forms of identification are required and at least one must be photographic ID. Bank cheques made out in foreign currency may need to be endorsed on the reverse side by the issuing bank.
- Generally, once you have made an initial investment with an organisation, no further ID will be required for additional investments made in the same name(s).
